Very Rare 1964 DKW Junior - SOLD

Very Rare 1964 Auto Union DKW Junior Deluxe, Two Stroke, Good Condition Throughout, 41,667 miles, MOT’d Sept 2025 When was the last time you saw one of these, in fact have you ever seen one? A very rare right hand drive two stroke car, in lovely condition. I’m available 7 days 9am to 7pm call Harry 07394 4444 80. www.cherryvalleycarsandclassics.co.uk The car is in Northern Ireland and comes with a standard UK V5 registration document. It can be used anywhere in the UK without reregistering or incurring any import duties. Delivery to most mainland UK postcodes averages £400. First registered on 1st July 1964, with only 41,600 miles on the clock. The car has covered less than 500 miles in the last 13 years and was virtually unused during its time in a private collection of DKW cars. The most recent owner's father had national responsibility for the sale of DKWs in the UK during the 1950s and 1960s. The exterior is in very good condition, the paintwork is bright and shiny with a few minor blemishes as expected on a car this age. Under the bonnet, in the boot, and across the underside, the car is in excellent condition, solid and structurally sound, with no welding done or needed. See the attached photos. The car starts and drives and everything appears to function as it should. However, due to its lack of use, it would benefit from some light recommissioning to ensure it is in good running order. DKW (Dampf-Kraft-Wagen) was a German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1916 by Jørgen Skafte Rasmussen. Initially, the company experimented with steam-powered vehicles, but it later shifted to two-stroke engine technology. By the 1920s, DKW became one of the world's leading producers of motorcycles and small cars. In 1932, it merged with Audi, Horch, and Wanderer to form Auto Union, symbolized by the four interlocking rings that later became Audi’s logo. During the 1930s, DKW produced popular front-wheel-drive cars like the DKW F1. After World War II, Auto Union was revived in West Germany, continuing to manufacture DKW-branded two-stroke cars such as the F89 and F102. In 1964, Volkswagen acquired Auto Union, phasing out the DKW name. Its last model evolved into the Audi F103, marking the beginning of modern Audi while preserving DKW’s engineering legacy. The description of the car reflects my personal opinion based on my experience, and time with the car. However, opinions are subjective, and what I find acceptable may differ from your perspective. Please don’t compare her to a modern car, she’s 61 years old, built to the engineering and design standards of her time. As with any classic car, there will always be room for improvement and jobs that need attention. It is also inevitable that she will require ongoing attention, maintenance, and repairs. If you're considering purchasing the car, I strongly encourage you to examine and test it in person to ensure it meets your expectations and suits your needs. This will give you the opportunity to fully appreciate its condition and assess whether it’s the right car for you.
